We had been neighbors for years, but I only knew Lauren to say hello to before she approached me about staging my home. She faced a real uphill challenge with this house: a large, 1970s-era split-level ranch with many spacious rooms, and not a lot of great furniture to work with. Furthermore, because of the recent departure of my ex-spouse, there were rooms that were empty, and rooms that were packed with stuff. To appreciate this challenge, please check out the before- and after pictures of my house on her web site – the transformation was phenomenal! In a few short weeks (all done during weekends and after hours) she created open, fresh spaces where before there had been clutter and dingy walls. Another characteristic of Lauren is that she reaches out to people: one day we had half the neighborhood in my house helping us out. This is not to say she will always have to operate this way, but just to give you an idea of Lauren’s warmth and ability to bring people in to a project. Her people skills also include willingness to be flexible – although she has passion and conviction she always respects the client’s wishes and understands about the stresses that are inherent when someone’s home is being changed around.
